Arts Festival Oklahoma


Description

Every Labor Day weekend, over 20,000 people attend Arts Festival Oklahoma to view and purchase original artwork and craft pieces. Displays range from oils, acrylics and watercolors to graphic creations, photography, pottery, sculpture and crafts of all kinds. Booth displays are housed in block-long tents, surrounded by ongoing performing arts and concessions.

One of the top arts festivals in the southwest, Arts Festival Oklahoma is a juried art show featuring top-quality original fine arts. Original craftwork displayed during the festival highlights techniques from age-old handcrafts to innovative new ideas. Held on the campus of Oklahoma City Community College, visitors to Arts Festival Oklahoma will find original artwork that will fit every budget, from student to collector. Most artists staff their own booths and welcome the opportunity to talk with visitors about their work.

Internationally recognized artists join local Oklahoma artists on Arts Festival Oklahoma's performance roster. Whether you favor classical, country, Latin or other kinds of musical fare, you will find something to engage you. Arts Festival Oklahoma is a family event through and through. In addition to enjoying art and craft exhibits, as well as a magician and other entertainers, the festival also features a children's activity tent. Kids can play in a giant sandbox and make their own pieces of original art.

A day at Arts Festival Oklahoma would not be complete without sampling the tasty wares of the festival's food vendors. Selected to offer a wide range of delicious refreshments, Arts Festival Oklahoma's food stands will lead visitors on a scrumptious tour around the world. Enjoy foot-long corn dogs, funnel cakes and ice cream, as well as Mexican, Greek, German and other ethnic specialties.

Admission is free, but there is a small charge to park on campus.
